BSE Sensex Rises: December 26, 2023
The BSE Sensex rose by 0.32% to 71,337 on Tuesday. This was mainly due to the performance of metals and energy stocks. The rise was also influenced by expectations of early US rate cuts. Adani’s Green Energy made a significant announcement. Its key shareholders will invest $1.12 billion to increase renewable power capacity. Paytm, on the other hand, plans to reduce its workforce to save on costs.
In the Sensex, NTPC and Mahindra & Mahindra were the best performers. They rose by 2.4% and 1.7% respectively. Bajaj Finance, however, fell by 1.8%. Infosys also saw a 1.1% drop after a global company cancelled a $1.5 billion AI deal with them.
