Dax 40 Update – December 20-2023
The Dax 40 index ended unchanged at 16,733 on Wednesday, reflecting a quiet day in European stock markets as investors continued to ponder over Europe’s monetary policy future. In Germany, producer prices dropped more than anticipated last month, and consumer confidence showed a small improvement. These factors led to a minor decrease in Bund yields. Siemens Energy was the top performer, increasing almost 3%, with Fresenius not far behind, rising 2.5%. Conversely, Deutsche Post saw a 1.9% fall following FedEx’s announcement of a reduced yearly revenue forecast and a quarterly profit that didn’t meet expectations.
