Turkey Manufacturing Confidence – December-26-2023
In December 2023, Turkey’s manufacturing confidence index took a dip, dropping by 1.1 points to 99.1. This is the lowest it’s been since the previous December, down from November’s reading of 100.2. The reason for this drop in confidence is due to a negative outlook for production, which fell from 106.2 in November to 102.5, and total employment, which went from 111 to 108.8.
However, it’s not all bad news. Expectations for the next three months show a positive trend in overall order books, which rose from 102.3 to 102.7, including export order books, which increased from 100.3 to 101.1. At the same time, inflation expectations for the next twelve months have eased, dropping from 61.2 to 58.8. Additionally, the fixed investment expenditure indicator saw a rise, going up from 115.6 to 116.5. There was also an improvement in the general business situation, which increased from 91.7 to 93.5.
